The computational studios are interactive simulations that accompany the lecture notes. Each one opens in its own browser tab and runs entirely in the browser, so nothing needs to be installed. The table lists them in the order they appear in the course.
| Studio | Section | What you can explore |
|---|---|---|
| Real Gas | 1.4 | Ideal-gas, van der Waals, and Peng–Robinson equations of state compared through the compressibility factor and – isotherms, especially near the critical point. |
| Two-State System | 2.2 | How the canonical probabilities, partition function, and heat capacity respond to the energy gap and the temperature range. |
| Ideal Gas | 2.5 | How particle count , volume , and temperature affect the gas, with , , and derived from the partition function. |
| Harmonic Oscillator | 2.6 | Internal energy and heat capacity versus the characteristic temperature, from quantum freeze-out to the classical high-temperature limit. |
| Linear Rigid Rotor | 2.7 | Rotational state populations, the partition function, and the entropy of heteronuclear and homonuclear diatomic molecules. |
| Phase Diagram | 6.1 | The – phase diagram of water, with a molecular picture of each phase region. |
| Clausius–Clapeyron | 6.2 | Vapor-pressure data for ethanol linearized as versus , with adjustable regression bounds and the resulting . |
| Chemical Equilibrium | 7.1 | Equilibrium as the minimum of the Gibbs free energy, and how temperature and pressure shift it. |
